Alexey Klokov is a Master of colour. Sometimes the “sound” of his brush is quite laconic in choice of palette colour; it is especially obvious in his earlier works. However, in his later artistic experimentations we can see an explosion of mixed colours. Their whirlwind impasto splashes are the evidence of his improvisation talent.
Another distinctive feature of Klokov is his unique artistic taste. Delicate and charming, his three-D mosaic configurations are found in his landscapes, figurative and abstract paintings. Also successful are his extra-decorative experiments where the main hero is the horizon and its continuity. This is something extremely difficult to express yet Klokov is a Master of achieving this with limited means.
