Alexey Klokov presented his collection of new paintings in Los Angeles. Following the monochrome tradition of great masters such as Pablo Picasso, Albrecht Dürer, Kazimir Malevich, Gerhard Richter, Bridget Riley and others, Alexey had his own input. He created the black-and-white series to reflect recent events in the United States and worldwide.
The collection named BLACKANDWHITE symbolizes the polar split in society into white and black, good and bad, right and wrong. The primary purpose of the collection is to show that these two colors are inseparable and do not exist without each other.
Hence Alexey’s selection of art technique, in which he creates the synergy of these colors by mixing them on the canvas. The result is their victorious union, which like the keys of the piano, yin and yang, day and night, form wholeness.
These paintings are beyond politics – they are about the world, which is comprehensive.
